(GSM) – Nemanja Vidic will miss Manchester United’s last Champions League group game against VfL Wolfsburg. The Serbian defender already missed United’s match against West Ham United last Saturday (0-4 win) due to a flu and still hasn’t recovered. The defensive worries continue to trouble Sir Alex Ferguson.
Vidic was replaced by Gary Neville in Saturday’s game but the veteran defender had to come off with an injury, just like Wes Brown. They are also out of Tuesday’s match against the reigning champions of Germany. With Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, John O’Shea and Fabio and Rafael da Silva also sidelined, the only first-team defender Ferguson has in his squad is left-back Patrice Evra.
The Scottisch manager has already revealed his intention to play Michael Carrick in central defence, while Darren Fletcher also seems certain to occupy a defensive berth.
