Vidic set for shock Old Trafford return

Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic is being linked with a January return to Old Trafford, according to Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset.

The Serbian defender was allowed to leave Manchester United when his deal expired and he in turn signed a lucrative deal with the Nerazzurri.

However, Vidic has had a nightmare start to his career in Italy, committing a number of costly mistakes, which is why Inter Milan could even rescind his contract in January.

And with Manchester United in a serious defensive crisis, it is believed Louis van Gaal might be ready to hand the Serbian an opportunity to return to England.

The 33-year-old made eight league appearances since joining Inter in the summer, while also featuring in four Europa League fixtures.

However, Vidic has been heavily criticised for some disappointing showings and it would appear as though the club officials have started to lose patience with him.
