ESPN is today reporting that Nemanja Vidic’s agent has ruled out any possible move from Manchester United to Juventus for his client.
Reports suggested that the 30-year-old could be heading to the Serie A champions in the January transfer window, but the Serbian’s Italian agent Silvano Martina has quashed any rumours linking him away from old Trafford.
Vidic is spending yet more time on the sidelines after being ruled out for eight weeks with a knee injury, adding to Sir Alex Ferguson’s defensive problems. He also missed the majority of the last English Premier League campaign.
All of these injury problems has sparked doubts over whether Ferguson could get rid of the defender in the New Year.
But, Silvano has said: “Juventus are complete with their non-EU players for this season and it is highly unlikely they will make a bid for Vidic, therefore I can categorically rule out any interest from them.
There is no doubt that when fit and at the top of his game, Vidic is one of the best central-defenders around and is a real leader in the dressing room.
Juventus would surely be interested in bringing him to Turin, but it looks to be a non-starter with the player not wanting to leave, or the club wanting to sell him.
Stranger things have happened in football though and nothing is certain, so keep an eye on the developments in this story.
