Christian Vieri is not bothered by the negative reactions of Atalanta fans, after returning to the side from Bergamo this week.

Last season, Vieri left Atalanta to join Fiorentina but after a disappointing season the striker decided to move back.

Hundreds of Atalanta supporters demonstrated outside the stadium while Vieri was presented by the club.

But the forward himself remained calm, under the circumstances: “This kind of things don’t interest me. It’s no problem. When I left Atalanta last year, I thanked the club for the great help I received when I recovered from my injury.”

Vieri is determined to repay Atalanta’s most influential family, the Ruggeri’s, for the trust they put in him.

“I’m very grateful because I was able to make a big step here, fifteen years ago.”

It was then that the player’s career developed with a move to Serie A giants Juventus.
