Villa announce Okore and Bacuna deals

Aston Villa have completed the double signing of Jores Okore and Leandro Bacuna.

Okore put pen to paper on a four-year contract, after completing a medical at the Premier League side on Thursday.

The 20-year-old signs from FC Nordsjaelland and was part of the side that won the Superliga title in 2012 and the Danish Cup in 2011.
The midfielder is thrilled to be joining Paul Lambert’s side, as he told the club’s website: “We’re a young team and we played some really good football over the second half of last season which is something we want to build on now as players, as a team and as a club.
“I know there is great potential in the team. I have watched many of our games because the Premier League is very popular back in Denmark.
“I know also that we have a good coach and this is a really good club. This is the right club for me, I feel it straight away.
“I’m really excited and I’m looking forward to seeing my new team-mates and getting together with them to train and get prepared to play some Premier League games.”
Bacuna, meanwhile, arrives of three-year contract from Eredivisie side FC Groningen.
The versatile midfielder appeared 37 times in total in the league last season, scoring five goals.
And the 21-year-old believes a move to the Premier League is a good step for his young career.
“It feels great. It’s a new beginning for me, a new step and I’m looking forward to being part of this young, hungry team we have at Villa,” he commented.
“This is a dream come true for me and also for my parents who are delighted for me. It’s a tremendous league to be a part of, the Premier League, and we want to show that Aston Villa can take its place among the top teams.
“I’m really excited to come here. Villa Park looks magnificent and the training facilities at Bodymoor Health are first class. I’m really impressed with the set-up here and I’m proud to be a part of this club.
“The manager is trying to create a new generation, to build something here and make a lot of young guys show what they can do. I’m up for the challenge.”
