Villa happy at Valencia

David Villa’s agent insists the Valencia striker is not closing in on a January move to Manchester City.

Reports in English newspapers claimed Villa’s agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, has visited Manchester City for talks over a move.

Tamargo told Setanta Sports: “I wasn’t in England at the weekend, that’s rubbish. This is dodgy news because I was in Spain, celebrating the New Year.

“I can tell you for sure that I was never invited by Manchester City to discuss about David Villa. He is happy at the club and pretty much committed to them.

“His intentions are crystal clear. We recently signed a six-year contract extension and we are not thinking of a transfer.”
