Villa in for Kongolo

Aston Villa are lining up a move for Huddersfield Town defender Terence Kongolo, according to the Mail Online.

The Villains are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the top flight, and have identified the Netherlands internationals as one of their top defensive targets.

Having initially moved to the John Smiths Stadium on loan during the 2017/18 campaign, the centre-back signed on a permanent deal last summer and featured in all but six of their league games last term.

He scored his one and only goal for the club so far in a 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth back in December but was ultimately unable to help them avoid relegation back to the Championship after two years at the top table.

Prior to his switch to England, the twenty-five-year-old had a brief spell with Monaco having spent a total of six seasons in Feyenord’s first team.
