Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has been given the green light to strengthen his squad when the transfer window reopens, according to the Mail Online.
The forty-five year old has insisted that he has the full backing of chairman Randy Lerner, who attended his first game in two years last weekend, when Villa lost for the first time this season.
Lambert is also confident of securing the futures of Fabian Delph, Ron Vlaar and youngster Jack Grealish, with all three currently in negotiations over new deals.
The Midlands side are flying high in the Premier League after taking ten points from their opening five games, though they face a tough run with games against title favourites Chelsea and Manchester City next up.
Villa, who beat the Blues at Villa Park six months ago, can be backed at 15/1 to take all three points from tomorrow afternoon’s trip to Stamford Bridge.
