Villarreal’s Argentine midfielder Ariel Ibagaza has left the Yellow Submarines for Greek giants Olympiakos. Ibagaza has signed a two year contract with Olympiakos and leaves Spain after a twelve year stay in the Iberian nation.

Ibagaza started his career with Lanus and crossed the Atlantic in 1998 to join Mallorca. He became captain of the Balearic Islanders before switching to Atletico Madrid in 2003. Three years later, he returned to Mallorca and spent two more seasons before joining Villarreal.

El Cano said that he wanted to help Olympiakos regain the Greek Super League title. Olympiacos won the league five consecutive times between 2004 and 2009 before losing the title to Panathinaikos last season.
