According to a report from Marca, Villarreal are very close to bringing Leicester City midfielder Vicente Iborra back to Spanish football. The 30 year old has really been struggling to break his way into the first team setup on a consistent basis at the King Power Stadium, with Claude Puel making it quite clear that he’s okay for him to go and find a new club.

They did pay £10.5 million to bring him over from Sevilla last year, though, so it won’t come as much of a surprise to learn that the Foxes want to make a good portion of that money back.

Iborra is known for being a defensive midfielder and a good one at that, but he hasn’t quite been able to live up to the hype with the former Premier League champions. He’s certainly given it his all but when you’re aiming to qualify for a spot in Europe, that doesn’t really cut it.
