La Liga outfit Villarreal have expressed interest in signing AS Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons, Marca can reveal.
The Yellow Submarine have been following the performances of the 29-year-old footballer for a couple of years now and they are now looking to offer him an escape route from Stadio Olimpico.
Gonalons only joined the Giallorossi last summer, but having made just eight league appearances, he could be interested in leaving.
Villarreal are in the market for midfield reinforcements due to the fact that Trigueros and Rodri are both in high demand and captain Bruno Soriano is yet to return from injury.
Having performed admirably in France and Europe for a number of years while at Lyon, it is hardly surprising Maxime Gonalons is high on their wish list.
