Villarreal reject Everton’s loan bid for Altidore

Spanish side Villarreal CF have rejected Everton’s loan offer for talented striker Jozy Altidore. The english side hoped to sign the youngster for the rest of the season.

Everton have been struggling with injuries recently, with forwards Aiyegbeni Yakubu, James Vaughn and Louis Saha all sidelined.

Spanish sportspaper Marca reports that Villarreal president Fernando Roig has rejected Everton’s bid, forcing the Premiership side to keep looking for a way to solve their striker crisis.

The 19-year-old American has only made six appearances for Villarreal this season, but is nevertheless valued at 7.5 million Euros. Altidore also played six games for the USA national team and scored twice.
