Udinese defender Cristian Zapata is on the verge of completing a move to Villarreal, his agent has revealed.
The 24-year-old, who is now with Colombia at Copa America, recently revealed that he was close to joining Liverpool, but it looks as though the move to Anfield has fallen through.
The player’s agent, Massimo Italiani has now revealed that his client is set to complete a transfer to Villarreal.
“The negotiations with the Spaniards are slowly taking good shape,” Italiani told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I think that the deal will soon be resolved as the player and the outfit are pleased to know that a big club like Villarreal have contacted for the signature of Zapata.”
Villarreal have reportedly offered €8 million for the Columbia international, which should be enough to close the deal.
