Villarreal to put a €60m release clause on Chukwueze

Villarreal’s start to the season has been decent. Winning eleven points from eight matches is not ideal, but considering how the rest of the league is doing, that is not so bad. But then, among all of that, Samuel Chukwueze is shining. The 20-year-old has already scored two goals and made one assist in La Liga this season and now several clubs are looking at him.

But the great talent of the Nigerian winger should be out of their reach, at least for some time, as Villarreal want to keep the player at their club as long as possible. According to Marca, they are expected to do so by offering him a new contract containing €60m release clause.

Chukwueze also had some brilliant performances in the second half of last season, but he started well again in the new on and the Yellow Submarine are keen to ensure they don’t lose such a bright young talent on the cheap.
