Villas-Boas admits interest in Hulk

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas admits he is exploring the possibility of signing Porto forward Hulk.

The Blues are going through a very rough season and they are expected to make several big name signings in the summer.

With Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda nearing the end of their respective deals at Stamford Bridge, Andre Villas-Boas reveals the club plan to sign another wide player.

“We have Kalou and Malouda, both of whom are nearing the end of their contracts, while Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge are the future,” Villas-Boas told Portuguese radio station TSF.

The under-fire manager then hinted that he could be reunited with Porto striker Hulk.

“As such, there will surely be a place to fill and I see room for an explosive player on the wing, someone who is strong in one-on-one situations and Hulk fits that profile.”

Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa recently stated that the Brazilian has a €100 million release clause, which could put off any interested sides.

However, Chelsea are not giving up on the 25-year-old, although they are hoping to sign him for much less.

After enjoying a remarkable season last term, Hulk has seen a small dip in form this season, although he still managed to score 7 goals in 17 league games.
