The Daily Mail are today reporting that new Tottenham boss Andre Villas Boas could have a transfer budget of around £50 million to bring new faces to White Hart Lane this summer.
Villas Boas was confirmed as Harry Redknapp’s successor yesterday and he has wasted no time in bringing new personal to the club, completing the signing of Hoffenhiem midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson for a fee believed to be around £8 million.
The Portuguese manager is not set to stop their though and is likely to make a move for the highly-rated striker Loic Remy from Marseille.
Remy is the target for plenty of clubs this summer but Villas Boas is hoping to bring him to Spurs as the move to sign Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal looks to have fallen through.
The former Chelsea boss is apparently keen on bringing Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen and CSKA Moscow midfielder Alan Dzagoev, however they will not come cheap.
This money could come from the potential sale of Luka Modric who seems to have his heart set on a move away from the North London side.
Villas Boas will need to strengthen his squad as Spurs look to finish in the top four in the English Premier League, reaching the Champions League.
