The agent of former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that his client is flattered by the reported interest from Roma.
The Portuguese manager has been out of job since he was relieved from his duties at Stamford Bridge in March, but has seen his name linked with various coaching positions across Europe.
Over the last few weeks, Villas-Boas has been mentioned as a possible successor to Luis Enrique at AS Roma, and his representative has confirmed that the Portuguese is interested in the coaching job at Olimpico.
“An agreement between Villas Boas and Roma? For now I cannot confirm anything, Andre is on vacation and has made no decision,” agent Carlos Goncalves told Italian radio Rete Sport.
“It’s too early to talk about this, but Villas Boas would be honoured to train such an important team.”
Villas-Boas worked under Jose Mourinho during his time at Porto, Chelsea and Inter, before accepting an offer from Academica to become their head coach in 2009.
The highly rated tactician joined Porto one year later and then moved to Chelsea after just one season at Dragao, but has utterly failed to prove his potential at Stamford Bridge and was sacked in March following the dismal run of results.
