Germany’s Marcell Jansen on Sunday pulled out of the national squad to play Turkey and Kazakhstan in Euro 2012 qualifiers after suffering from a virus.

The 24-year-old Hamburg midfielder sat out Saturday’s 2-1 Bundesliga win over Kaiserslautern with the virus and will also miss the qualifiers with Turkey in Berlin on Friday and Kazakhstan in Astana four days later.

Jansen has won 36 caps for his country and has been used as a defensive midfielder and defender by Germany coach Joachim Loew, who has said he will not add any new players to his 21-man squad.

Germany are top of Euro 2012 qualifier Group A after two wins, while Guus Hiddink-coached Turkey have also won both their early games and are also on a maximum six points.
