Vitaliy Mykolenko of Dynamo Kyiv is having his medical ahead of a proposed move to Everton today (Friday), according to Fabrizio Romano.
A versatile defender, but primarily a left-back, Mykolenko rose through the youth ranks at Dynamo and earned first-team promotion in 2017. Since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 132 appearances across all competitions for the club, recording seven goals and 20 assists. At the age of 22, he is a 21-cap senior Ukraine international.
Everton will be paying around £20 million for the services of Mykolenko, and the personal terms have already been agreed.
Meanwhile, it seems Mykolenko could turn out to be a replacement for Lucas Digne, with Everton open to offers for the 28-year-old in January. Manager Rafa Benitez hasn’t named him in a matchday squad for the last three games, not since the team’s defeat in the Merseyside Derby on December 1st.
Vitaliy Mikolenko will complete his medical as new Everton player today – and then he’ll sign his contract in order to announce the deal as soon as possible. Here-we-go. ⏳🇺🇦 #EFC
