Arsenal reportedly held a strong interest in Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the last January transfer window, while the Serbia international still played for Fiorentina. However, Vlahovic was obviously interested only in joining Juventus, and the Gunners practically didn’t stand a chance.
Fast forward a couple of months and Arsenal have renewed the contract of Eddie Nketiah and signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, boosting their striker department significantly in that way. They haven’t looked back yet as Jesus hit the ground running at the Emirates and they top the Premier League table after seven rounds.
Nonetheless, there have been rumours in the last couple of days about Arsenal preparing to launch a fresh offensive to sign Vlahovic. It’s been said that they are prepared to pay £100.5 million in a swoop that would include both him and 19-year-old attacking midfielder Fabio Miretti.
But Fabrizio Romano claims these rumours have no truth in them whatsoever, that he’s been told so by sources from both Arsenal and Juventus.
Stories on Dušan Vlahović and links to Arsenal move for January have been described as wide of mark by sources on both sides. ⛔️ #AFC
