The Mail Online understand that Sam Vokes is on the verge of signing a new contract with Burnley.
The Wales international is in talks with the Lancashire outfit, who he signed for from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2012.
Since then, he has played almost two-hundred-and-fifty times in all competitions, scoring sixty-one goals while he has twice helped the club win promotion to the Premier League.
He has been capped sixty times for Wales and was part of their squad that impressed at the 2016 European Championships in France.
He scored the most memorable of his eleven international goals in the 3-1 quarter-final victory over Belgium just over two years ago while his last appearance came in the 4-1 friendly defeat to Spain earlier this month.
Burnley host Chelsea in Sunday afternoon’s early kick-off in the EPL and Vokes can be backed at a price of 12/1 to score first.
