Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has moved to deny reports that Arturo Vidal will be sold to Bayern Munich.
The Chile international is one of the most sought-after players in Europe following an impressive season with Bayer Leverkusen and Chile.
He has already expressed his desire to be reunited with coach Jupp Heynckes at Bayern, but it looks as though the transfer will fall through after all.
Even though Bayern were reportedly very close to securing the deal, Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller has revealed that Vidal will only be sold abroad.
“Bayern can offer what they want. They will not get him,” Voller told Kicker.
“There is a threshold only for foreign (clubs).”
Arsenal, Milan and Napoli are some of the clubs showing interest in the player whose contract is set to expire in June 2012.
Even though the 24-year-old is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen chiefs are unlikely to sell him for less than €15 million.
