Dinamo Moscow forward Andriy Voronin has been loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf, the Russian club have announced.
The 33-year-old, who made a name for himself at Bayer Leverkusen, returns to Bundesliga following stints at Liverpool and Dinamo Moscow.
Voronin has managed to resurrect his playing career in Russia, after a disappointing spell at Anfield and scored 15 goals in 63 Russian Premier League games for Dinamo.
However, he was deemed surplus to requirements this summer and decided to accept an offer from the newly promoted Bundesliga side.
“I am very happy. I had some offers, but Fortuna was the first choice,” Voronin said to Bild.
“Germany is my second home and Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world.”
Vorinin has retired from international football on the back of a disappointing performance at the 2012 European Championship, meaning he will now be able to full focus on his club career.
His new club have been very active in the summer transfer window, having signed no less than 16 players already.
