Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon will have to do without their Montenegrin midfielder Simon Vukcevic for the rest of the season.
The club announced on their official website that the player needs surgery on a shoulder injury picked up in Montenegro’s World Cup qualifier with Italy on the weekend.
The 23-year-old joined Sporting in 2007 and scored four goals in 13 matches this season.
The news comes at a bad moment for Sporting, who currently trail leaders Porto by four points with eight matches to go.
