Arsenal are ready to offer Theo Walcott a bumper new contract, according to the Metro.
The North London club, who continued their unbeaten start to the league season with a 1-1 draw against rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, have secured the future of a number of their key players in recent weeks, with Olivier Giroud the latest to put pen to paper.
Walcott’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, having seen his wages increase to £100,000 a week just last year.
The England international moved to the Emirates Stadium during the 2005/06 campaign, and has gone on to make two hundred and eighty-one appearances in all competitions, scoring sixty-nine goals while internationally, he has been capped thirty-six times.
He has been out of action since January with a knee injury, and is in line to make a return to first team action in around four weeks’ time.
