Aaron Wan-Bissaka has passed the medical ahead of a proposed move to Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
Crystal Palace had reportedly rejected United’s offer of £40 million for the right-sided defender, but the two clubs have now found common ground and settled on £45 million upfront plus an add-on of £5 million based on the number of appearances in a United shirt. Should the deal, which is expected to be finalized and confirmed some time today (Friday), the 21-year-old will become United’s fifth-most expensive signing in the club’s history, behind Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel Di Maria and Fred.
Wan-Bissaka flew to Manchester on Wednesday evening and took the first part of the medical, and completed the second part on Thursday. He will be the second addition to manager Ole Gunnar Solsjaer’s team of the summer, following the arrival of winger Daniel James from Swansea. The pair of newcomers outline the new approach to recruitment by the 20-time English champions, which reportedly targets young British talent.
