(GSM) – Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino has pledged his future to the club after rumors surfaced about his future away from Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The 28-year-old Italy international has been linked to Newcastle United, Olympique Lyon and Juventus.
But the forward, who has scored three goals for his side this season, intends to remain at the club until 2013 despite breaking his relationship with his agent.
Gilardino told the club’s official website: “I stopped my professional relationship with the Fifa agent Marcello Bonetto, but for the moment, I have not signed any agreement with other agents.
“I also want to state that I’m totally focused on upcoming games and our season. I have a contract with Fiorentina until 2013 and I intend to respect it.”
Juventus general director Giuseppe Marottahas dismissed rumors that the Turin-based club has contacted Fiorentina in order to sign Gilardino.
He told Sky Italia: “Gilardino? I categorically deny that Juventus has ever contacted him.”
