Wanyama offered new Southampton deal

Southampton have offered Victor Wanyama a new five-year contract, according to Sky Sports.

The Kenya international had been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the recently closed transfer window though a move never materialised.

He moved to St Mary’s Stadium from Celtic in the summer of 2013, and has so far racked up sixty-five appearances in the club in all competitions, scoring three goals.

He racked up over ninety games during his time in Scotland while he began his career with Belgian club Beerschot.

He has been capped thirty-one times for his country and scored his one and only international goal so far came in a World Cup qualifying victory over Seychelles in November 2011.

Southampton secured their first win of the season by beating Norwich City 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Next up for the Saints is a trip to West Bromwich Albion, where the away win is priced at 11/8.
