Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock said he will look to strengthen his squad when the transfer window opens in January.
Warnock’s side sit in 10th place on the English Premier League table with nine points from their first eight games after their 1-1 draw with Blackburn at Loftus Road on Saturday, when Christopher Samba’s header cancelled out Heidar Helguson’s opener for the hosts.
Warnock, whose coffers have swelled since the club was taken over by Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes, said he would look to bring in reinforcements when the transfer window opened.
“We’re always looking to improve the squad,” Warnock said. “We will have three or four, possibly five new players in the squad in January.”
“I think it is obvious that the striking situation will be one of them. We’re always on the look out to improve.”
Warnock said he was pleased with his team’s performance, but disappointed with the way Blackburn drew level.
“We tried to win, simple as that,” he said. “I mean every game and point is important.”
“The disappointing thing for me is conceding a goal like that.
“Today we kept solid at the back and tried to go forward and win the game, it just wasn’t to be.”
Blackburn boss Steve Kean, meanwhile, was pleased with the effort of his side to secure a draw.
“Any point away from home is a good point,” Kean said. “We were slightly disappointed as we felt the first goal was against the run of play.”
“But fair play to QPR – they mixed up the set plays and we ended up actually changing our markers at the corner to our detriment because I know Helguson very well and he lost his marker on the first header.”
“We felt as though we could come here and get something from it and we’ve been good against the London clubs.”
“We took a point away at Fulham, we’ve beat Arsenal and a good thing for us is we’ve now got another London club coming up in Tottenham. London has been good for us at the moment.”
