Marcin Wasilewski’s injury is a huge disappointment for Leo Beenhakker, Poland’s head coach.
The defender of Anderlecht sustained a terrible leg fracture and won’t be available for at least twelve months.
`Wasilewski’s injury is a huge blow for Poland’s national side. Together with Michal Zewlakow and Shakthar Donetsk’s Lewandowski, he’s one of the leaders of the team and we will miss him,` Beenhakker said at a press conference.
`Many players returned on the pitch from a serious injury and Marcin is a strong bloke. He’s my Arnold Schwarzenegger en Schwarzenegger always comes back. I will ask the lads to beat Northern Ireland for him,` the Poland boss concluded.
