Premier League high flyers Watford are set to complete the signing of Moroccan winger Nordin Amrabat.
The Hornets are reportedly prepared to match the player’s €8.8 million release clause, and Malaga owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani has confirmed on Twitter that the 28-year-old is set to move to Vicarage Road.
“Good morning everyone. I want to clarify some things about Nordin Amrabat,” he tweeted.
“I’m not and and will not think of selling the player, but everyone must understand this.
“(He) told me ‘this is my dream!’
“I can’t say to him ‘you can’t go’. We are human beings. I hope everyone knows that very well.”
Having enjoyed a strong start to the Premier League campaign, Watford clearly want to keep the rich vein of form by adding few more quality players to their ranks, with Nordin Amrabat set to be announced as the first signing of the winter transfer window.
The Morrocan, who had switched his allegiance from Netherlands, has had mixed success since leaving PSV Eindhoven, the club where he had made a name for himself.
Following spells with Kayserispor and Galatasaray, the winger has rediscovered his form at La Rosaleda and is now set to continue his career in English Premier League.
