Watford lead chase for Gerard Deulofeu

Catalan radio station RAC1 is suggesting that Watford have emerged as favourites to sign Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu.

The talented winger was heavily linked with a return to Serie A where he had enjoyed a successful loan spell at AC Milan, but it seems that his suitors AS Roma, Napoli and Inter will have to look elsewhere.

Namely, RAC1 claims that new Watford manager Javi Gracia has made signing Gerard Deulofeu one of his January priorities.

The two clubs have yet to find common ground with regards to the transfer fee, but a return to the Premier League looks on the cards for the Spaniard.

Gerard Deulofeu hasn’t quite managed to prove his worth since returning to Camp Nou, scoring just twice in 17 competitive outings.
