Watford Observer is reporting that Watford Football Club are close to completing a deal for Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Hornets have been keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old footballer for quite a while, but they were unsuccessful in their attempts to recruit him last summer.
Nevertheless, Watford look set to make things right on transfer deadline day, with Doucoure expected to follow Mario Suarez in joining the Hornets.
Despite signing the former Atletico Madrid star from Fiorentina, the Vicarage Road outfit plan to add the French footballer to their ranks as well and they are expected to complete the transfer well ahead of tonight’s deadline.
Abdoulaye Doucoure is yet another impressive product of one of world’s most famous youth academies and he has so far amassed 75 Ligue 1 appearances for les Bretons, scoring 12 goals in the process.
The France Under-21 international will now get a chance to test his skills in arguably the strongest league competition in the world.
