Premier League newcomers Watford have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Fran Montavez from Real Madrid, according to AS.
The Hornets have yet to confirm the deal on their official website, but the Spanish daily newspaper has posted a photo showing the footballer signing a contract in Watford gear.
Fran Montavez has spent last few weeks on trial at the Vicarage Road and he clearly did well enough to earn a professional contract.
The 19-year-old will be initially added to the club’s Under-21 side that is coached by Harry Kewell, while it remains to be seen whether he can challenge for first team places any time this season.
After coming through the youth ranks at Santiago Bernabeu, Montavez decided to leave Real Madrid after consulting with his agent, and that could prove to be a very good decision.
It is believed that Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores gave the green light for the deal to go ahead having enquired about the player through his contacts in Spain.
