Watford to fight for Doucoure

According to Sky Sports sources, Watford are set to do everything in their power to keep hold of Abdoulaye Doucoure. The 26 year old Frenchman has been at Vicarage Road since back in 2016, when he made the jump over from Rennes. Now, he finally appears to be getting the kind of recognition that many Hornets fans always felt he should be getting from the word go.

Watford aren’t planning on selling him, despite the fact that he’s being valued at around £50 million if not more. They purchased him for just £8 million so it’d be quite the profit, but given how close Watford are to the Europa League spots, it would appear as if that’s what they’re prioritising above the financial aspect.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be the main club in the running to sign him, with the belief being that he could break into the French national team setup if the deal goes through. Or, at the very least, he’ll be considered more so than he would be if he stays at Watford.
