Watford turn down Adebayor training role

Watford have turned down the chance to have former Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor train with them, according to the Mirror.

The Togo international, who was released by Spurs earlier this month, is keen to work on his fitness as he looks to find a new club.

However, Watford are not willing to take him on board due to their already ‘tight-knit squad’, who have made a promising start to life back in the top flight.

Quique Florres’ side have lost just one of their six league games so far this season – winning their last two, and currently sit tenth in the division.

Only Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth have scored more Premier League goals than Odion Ighalo, though no other Hornets’ player has hit the net thus far.

Next up for Watford is a visit from Crystal Palace, with the home win priced at 6/4.
