WBA join race for Adrien Silva

According to reports from Portuguese media outlet Abola, West Bromwich Albion are ready to step in the race for Sporting CP forward Adrien Silva.

The Portugal international was on verge of joining Leicester City this summer but saw his deadline day transfer to Premier League champions collapse.

Claudio Ranieri remains keen on the 27-year-old attacker, but will face stiff competition for his signature with WBA ready to rival the Foxes in January.

The Baggies were sold to a Chinese investment group this summer and new owners are willing to invest a great amount of money to reinforce the squad during the winter transfer market with Adrien Silva being identified as one of top targets for the club.

Adrien Silva joined Sporting CP from Academica in 2010-11 season and is thought to be ready for a new challenge in his career.

The 27-year-old made 29 Primeira Liga appearances last season for Sporting CP, scoring eight goals in the process.
