Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived in Italy on Sunday, ahead of his medical with AC Milan on Monday, and declared that he will form part of the best attack in the world.
The 28-year-old agreed a switch to the rossoneri from Barcelona on Saturday on an initial one-year loan, leading to a 24 million euro permanent transfer.
And upon arriving at Milan’s Linate airport, with wife Helena and his two children, he spoke of his excitement at the prospect of teaming up with Brazilian forwards Ronaldinho and Pato.
“I’ve come here to win things and I’m sure we will win. I won’t leave this team until we’ve won everything,” the big Swede told Sky TV cameras.
“In my opinion we’re the best in Italy and amongst the best in the world.
“On paper (our attack) is the best in the world and our fans are definitely going to have fun in the stadium.”
Ibrahimovic is due to go to the San Siro to watch Milan’s opening Serie A game of the season on Sunday night against Lecce.
“Finally I’m here and I can just think about football. I’m disappointed not to be able to play today (Sunday), I’m really motivated,” he added.
“I hope to score even more goals than last year. I dream of scoring in the Champions League and winning all the trophies that I’ve already won but more than anything I want to be happy.
“Once I heard Milan were interested in me I was very emotional because there aren’t many teams like Milan.”
Ibrahimovic scored 20 goals for Barca last season but was still widely considered to have under achieved.
The season before that he was top scorer in Serie A for Milan’s bitter city rivals Inter Milan.
And both Ibrahimovic and his agent Mino Raiola pointed the finger at Barca coach Pep Guardiola to explain the Swede’s short stay in Catalonia.
“I didn’t think things were so bad with the philosopher (Guardiola),” said Ibrahimovic.
Raiola added: “The idea (for this transfer) came from Guardiola, it became clear that the club wasn’t able to resolve the problem that only Guardiola knew about.”
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani, who spent four days in Barcelona to seal the deal, said of the attack: “It’s an attack with a lot of fizz, I’d compare it to champagne.
“He’s a very important player, I think he’ll gel perfectly with Pato and Ronaldinho.
“Now on a technical level we’re amongst the best teams in the world and we’ll return to our natural position as a team competing at the highest level.”
Last season Milan were a distant third in the league and were humbled in the Champions League by Manchester United 7-2 on aggregate.
