Having won the first trophy of the season and still fighting for the remaining three, Liverpool are in the middle of a heavy crisis with a number of key players injured.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker (hamstring), defenders Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold (both knee), midfielders Stefan Bajcetic (fitness), Curtis Jones (ankle), Wataru Endo (knock), Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago Alcantara (both hamstring), as well as forwards Diogo Jota (knee), Darwin Nunez (unspecified) and Mohamed Salah (thigh), are all classed as either ruled out or big doubts for the FA Cup clash with Southampton on Wednesday. It’s been said that some of them might be ready to play, but manager Jurgen Klopp doesn’t appear too optimistic on that front.
“We need miracles with a few players” 🙏@LFC boss Jurgen Klopp says some key players are still absent due to injury ahead of their FA Cup tie against @SouthamptonFC 🏆
