Sheffield Wednesday have completed a 28-day loan signing for Chelsea’s Sam Hutchinson, according to Sky Sports.
The 24 year old spent the first half of the season at Dutch Eredivise side Vitesse Arnhem with a number of his Blues teammates, while he played nine games for Nottingham Forest during the 2012/13 campaign.
Hutchinson came through the youth system at Chelsea, beginning his time with the club at the age of seven, making just six first team appearances in that time though he was forced to retire through injury aged 21 in 2010.
However, following a remarkable recovery he made his comeback as a substitute in a 6-1 win over Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge in April 2012.
The defender becomes the second new arrival at Hillsborough this week, after Gary Gardner secured a temporary move from Aston Villa though both will have to wait for their debut, as the Owls’ FA Cup fifth round tie against Charlton Athletic was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
