Aston Villa forward Andreas Weimann has put pen to paper on a new three year contract, ending speculation that he is set to move away from the club.
A host of Premier League clubs and Borussia Dortmund had all been linked with the player, who has just enjoyed a breakthrough season at Villa Park, scoring seven goals in thirty league appearances.
The 21 year old, who had just twelve months remaining on his current deal, signed the paperwork on Monday after returning from international duty with Austria.
Weimann progressed through Villa’s youth academy after joining from Rapid Vienna six years ago.
After a handful of first team appearances, he moved to Watford on loan for the second half of the 2010/11 campaign, opening his account for Villa at the end of the following season.
His first full international cap came as a substitute against the Ivory Coast back in November.
