Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may come under scrutiny from UEFA after communicating with his bench during a 1-0 win over Udinese.
The Gunners put a trying week behind them, following the 35-million-pound departure of captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, with victory in their Champions League qualifier.
But controversy arose when Wenger communicated with the Arsenal bench, given he is serving a touchline ban.
The Frenchman was ordered to sit in the stands as part of a ban carrying over from last year’s competition, but was found to be passing game notes to his staff at the side of a pitch, which he was told at half-time broke the conditions of his ban.
Adding fuel to the fire, Wenger failed to show for his post-match press conference, claiming his ban also excluded him from media duties.
UEFA will now investigate his actions with a view to further disciplinary action.
