Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger doesn`t understand why Manchester City boss Mark Hughes keeps on defending his striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

TheTogolese international misbehaved in the match against Arsenal. Therefore he was charged by the FA on Tuesday.

However, Hughes keeps on defending his player, much to the disbelief of Wenger.

“Ask 100 people what they think of the situation and 99 of them will judge it. Number 100 is named Mark Hughes,” Wenger told the BBC.

Adebayor can expect a suspension for three matches because of his foul against Arsenal forward Robin van Persie. He can also expect a punishment for the way he behaved against the Arsenal fans.

His former boss at Arsenal was surprised by the way Adebayor acted. “In a few years he will hopefully realize how good Arsenal has treated him during the years he played for the club,” Wenger added.

The French coach concluded his story by explaining Adebayor`s foul on Van Persie. “As a football player you know when you hurt someone or not. Adebayor clearly wanted to injure someone.”

This is just the beginning…….Man City and Tottenham actually seek to topple Arsenal and/or Liverpool from the Top Four , an objective that is gaining more credence match after match. While I do not support Adebayor’s actions, I must point out that Mark Hughes has the right to defend his player(s) under such circumstances – like all world-class Managers are wont to do.

Perhaps, Arsene Wenger should concentrate on achieving success with his so-called ‘young lads’ for the season. If Arsenal chooses not to spend money buying players, then they shouldn’t lament on the effects of injuries to certain key players – all clubs at this level face the same risks and take steps to protect themselves by ensuring that the bench is packed with talent. While others are spending money Mr. Wenger is busy criticizing spending, as if other Managers don’t know what they’re doing.

My mum taught me that “as you make your bed so you’ll lie on it” and “you can’t eat your cake and still have it”. Arsenal hasn’t been spending money on buying players recently therefore they have no right whatsoever to point accusing fingers at others who are reaping the benefits of having spent good money buying top quality talent.
