Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted at a future role with underperforming French side Paris Saint Germain, though not as a team coach, according to a French report on Wednesday.
Wenger, who hails from the Alsace region of eastern France, told the Republicain Lorrain newspaper he would not rule out a role with the French first division side.
“It’s not impossible, but it wouldn’t be in a coaching role,” Wenger said in response to recent speculation linking him with the club in the near future.
Wenger even offered a vague blueprint for the future direction of the club, which is one of France’s biggest but has failed to hit the heights.
“PSG is the only club in the world which is based in an area of 10 million inhabitants and doesn’t have any competition (from a rival club),” he added.
“What needs to be done is to get a group of investors around the table to provide the club with some financial muscle.”
