Arsene Wenger has failed to rule out a possibility of few more big name players leaving the Emirates.
After Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri left the club, the Gunners have began talks with five first team players regarding new contracts.
Robin Van Persie, Andrey Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Thomas Vermaelen and Alex Song are all negotiating new deals, and Wenger cannot guarantee that all five will stay.
“Signing up players to new contracts is a process that begins now,” Wenger was quoted as saying in Daily Mail.
”We will try. But we tried before. The gap on that front has become bigger for us, so I can’t say today that if we go to the maximum we are sure to sign the player.
”We try to convince the players to stay. Our desire is there to do that and we are ready to sit down and talk.”
