(GSM) – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he wants to bring in a new striker. However, he insists a new recruit is not coming soon.
The Gunners’ attackers have been hit by injuries this season, with Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner currently on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Theo Walcott has been limited to just three starts in the Premier League, a fact that has led Wenger to assess his front-line options.
Wenger knows that this period is a crucial one and will have a great influence on the final standings of the Premier League.
“Yes, I am still thinking about trying to bring someone in this month, but I must confess I am not very close to doing anything at this moment,” said Wenger.
“I am looking at buying strikers because when we started the season we were playing with Van Persie and Bendtner up front.
“But at the moment we don’t have either of them, while we are also without Walcott.
“So we are missing those three as we enter a very important period of the season when every point is crucial and can make the difference at the end of a season.
