Arsenal are considering a bid for West Browmwich Albion’s teenage striker Saido Berahino, according to the Independent.
The England U21 international burst on to the scene over the last few weeks with five goals in his seven first team appearances for the Baggies so far, including a hat-trick on his debut in the League Cup second round victory over Newport County and the winner at Old Trafford two weeks ago.
He also netted the equaliser in the League Cup third round clash with Arsenal, taking the tie to extra time only for Steve Clarke’s men to lose on penalties.
The Gunners are keen to recruit a new striker, with only Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner their only currently fit options in that position, though Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo are closing in on their respective returns to fitness.
Juventus striker Fernando Llorente has also been linked with a winter switch to the Emirates, as he seeks regular first team football ahead of next summer’s World Cup finals.
