Arsene Wenger has urged Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to pen a new contract with Arsenal, according to the Independent.
The winger, like high profile teammates Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez is heading into the final twelve months of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium and both Manchester City and Liverpool are monitoring the situation.
Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to the Gunners from Southampton in the summer of 2011 and has so far racked up one hundred and eighty-seven appearances for the North London outfit in all competitions, scoring twenty goals while he was part of the squads that won the FA Cup in both 2014 and 2015.
He has only started twelve Premier League games so far this season though his manager is determined to secure his services.
Internationally, he has been capped twenty-five times for England, scoring five goals and he attended both the 2012 European Championships and the World Cup finals two years later.
