According to some reports in England, Arsene Wenger turned down the chance to take over as Fulham manager in the wake of Slavisa Jokanovic’s departure. The former Cottagers boss was sent packing after a poor start to the campaign, with Claudio Ranieri quickly being brought in to replace him. However, it turns out that a handful of other candidates were considered including Leonardo Jardim, Andre Villas-Boas and, of course, Arsene Wenger.
All three men turned down the opportunity to take over, with Wenger’s case being the most intriguing. The Frenchman has stated that he is ready to return to management but he doesn’t seem to be ready to commit to another club just yet, especially in the Premier League where he’d come up against his beloved Arsenal. If he does return to management in the next few months, probably at the start of 2019, he’ll most likely decide to go abroad.
