After his side’s disappointing draw with Hungarian side Szombathelyi Haladas, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that he is looking to add a midfielder to his squad.
“We need one more body in there. If we find a reasonable target we will get him. There is no special name,” said Wenger according to The Daily Mail.
According to the same report, the midfielder that is being targeted by The Gunners’ boss is Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry. Though the report does go on to mention that Juventus youngsters Marchisio and Giovinco are also under Wenger’s radar.
Gareth Barry’s Aston Villa future seems to be non-existent after the club’s fans booed their captain on his return to action in a friendly against Walsall yesterday – that too according to The Daily Mail.
